Liquid caustic can release enough heat to ignite the substances when contact with the moisture or water. It reacts with many metals and releases hydrogen gas which is explosive.
Liquid caustic reacts with water, strong acids, general metals, flammable substances, zinc, aluminium peroxides and halone hydrocarbons. It has an itchy effect when it comes into contact with human tissue.
Areas of usage: Bead caustic, paper production, paint artificial silk, soap, oil refineries and detergent industry.
The textile sector has been used for whitening and removing waste in the product.
